Evidence of drought was everywhere we went. A year later, in Zone 4, the climate was normal, the gardens were lush, and the difference in daylily behavior in the two zones was evident.

Here are a few general observations I made along the way. First, there are an incredible number of shades of red in daylilies. Second, virtually every daylily lover is a daylily photographer.
