Peach were very good friends. I remember when my dad introduced me to him in his driveway, right off of 18th Street, corner house, white with black trim. I remember shaking his hand and he paid me the compliment of being a very polite young man. I remember feeling very restless as we stood next to his van, white and maroon I believe, in the driveway for about 30 minutes while he and my father talked. I remember as my father told me to get in the car he stated, "That's a fine boy to stand there that long John.
He always smiled and waived. It was a few years after that I began to play tackle football for a little league team called the "Chief's". My father would stop by and pick up Michael, and he and I would attend practice every night together. Those were the days. It sure was an honor to share this memory. I was sad to hear of this loss.

He was both successful and significant. I was a rookie officer on the Wichita Police Department on second shift, and Robert Peach was working the midnight shift as Watch Commander. I had lots of interaction with him while working overtime on cases that came at the end of the shift. He was always positive and kind. I appreciated his wisdom and his willingness to give appropriate suggestions to a rookie officer in and ! Robert and his brother Tom were quite the characters and were lots of fun.
