Tyler Printmaking students join a welcoming, collaborative community of artists and educators who are bridging tradition and innovation. As a Tyler student, you'll have access to the resources of large, public research university combined with the intimacy of an art school. Tyler students take full advantage of the school's location in Philadelphia, a vibrant art center with a strong printmaking tradition, to find internships and jobs, explore museums and galleries and launch creative practices and businesses.

There is no better way to sharpen your skills than to draw or paint from the model. Come to our workshops with materials of your own choosing and get your creative juices flowing!

All workshops meet in our historic facility. The spacious studio space has been freshly renovated. Newly installed gallery lighting—with ultraviolet filters to protect paintings—is ideal for working artists. The space is also lit by natural light. Please note: Those who use oil paints should bring their own container to remove used turpentine.

We ask that you use odorless thinner. The annual Workshop Show is an opportunity open for all workshop attendees to exhibit their work. As the Philadelphia Fine Print Workshop granted opportunities to artists who had been marginalized because of their race, the Brandywine Workshop and Brodsky Center have actively reached out to artists of color.

Edmunds and Brodsky have recognized that few African American artists, especially women, have had the chance to master the technical processes of printmaking. Their artist residency programs have exposed artists of all backgrounds to the possibilities of media technologies and have provided extensive professional development.
