Just clean up after your pet and everyone is happy. There is one Dog park. But I dont go down certain roads like gold coast because they haven't been maintained in forever. Resident 2y ago. And petty theft can be a problem for packages and vehicles but is otherwise a great neighborhood other that the high rent in the area considering the dwellings in question. Only bad thing is horrible streets. Too many potholes and the worst drivers. Many Asian drivers". Both have which have been locked up and not been left standing for more than one day. I do know the local college hosts several events and some are some that open to the general public. I drive to Carmel mountain, 4s ranch, even North county if I need to do anything and I live less than a mile from Mira Mesa.
There is a wide variety of restaurants and grocery sties as well as shopping. Mira Mesa blvd has so much traffic it is hard to avoid. My husband, on the other hand commutes to LA! Traffic is bad during rush hour in Mira Mesa, especially along Mira Mesa Blvd, it can take 20 minutes to go 3 blocks. Other than that, it's a pretty decent area. I feel safe here. My kids like it.
