Indeed Featured review The most useful review selected by Indeed. I think my biggest issue with Cutco was the fact that the communication between me and management were terrible and every time I brought up a question that the customer had about the product they always tell me to say "just tell them there's nothing like Cutco" and that really frustrated me, because A LOT of people had some really great questions that I didn't know the answers too. I could never really be passionate about the product, because I never used it!
So on top of no communication, terrible training, and the feeling of being lost half the time, this job is only for those who just love love love to sale with a passion. They were trying to force people to make this out of this world sales that wouldn't have been possible unless you are in a rich neighborhood, with people that uses expensive cutlery. So if you decide wo work for this company, all I have to say is goodluck!
Pros flexible schedule. Cons Pay, lack of communication, training. Was this review helpful? Report Share. They will literally relentlessly hound you to call your grandmother to set up a demo. Absolutely ridiculous company business model and I would not recommend working there to anyone.
Pros None. Cons Have to use your own network. Even after I quit, I got a text months later ensuring that I received the full pay I was owed.
It's easier if you have connections of people who are wealthier. The more you sell, the more you make. For an entry level job, you can make a lot of money fast. If you're interested in sales this is the perfect job to start you off. You have to make a lot of phone calls to people you know to try to sell them something over a long presentation that they may not want. Pros High Pay Fast. Cons Have to sell to people you know very uncomfortable for me, but not as bad as i thought.
Best job I ever had. Cutco is a great company that pays above most manufacturing plants around this area. Great benefits including k with a great company match.
They also provide health insurance and not so great dental. Pros Great pay and work environment. Cons Takes a long time to accrue vacation time. CutCo is a great company to work at as a student because you create your own schedule and the pay is good. You schedule your own appointments and choose when you want to work.
Job seekers rely on your experience. If you know what a pyrimade scheme is then it's basically that, they usuallly target high school kids to work. Pros flexible hours. Cons pyrimade scheme, pay was eh. Yes There are 1 helpful reviews 1 No. Nothing really I just worked from home and sold kitchen items like knives really nothing just an at home job it was pretty cool mostly just was talking to people.
Job is very easy and flexible. The managers are very supportive and will help you with anything. Job came with free stuff if you worked hard. This is a job for people just coming out of high school. In fact that is who they mainly target. I was lucky, my experience was not indicative of others. I had high sales numbers only based upon who I knew. I only was able because I had a large friends and family circle with those being my first customers.
Working there was super chill, you could be your own boss. Working there one thing that should be known is that you could get a lot of money if you put the effort. We want to help you find great companies. Help us be the best! Be prepared to make tons of phone calls and set up a lot of meetings. Ask for referrals and you will succeed. Most people will sell to family and friends and call it quits, but if you stick with it and actually make the phone calls that you should and reach out to tons of prospective clients then you will make some good money.
In comparison to the amount of time put into selling the paychecks are terrible, but the sales culture is fun. Yes No There are 1 unhelpful reviews 1. A typical day at work is either starting your shift with a meeting or you just jump into making calls. Either way, you spend hours on the phone calling people which often times, won't get you sales. Your call list is very hard to build even if you're sure you'll get the sale. It feels similar to going door to door with the product except its mostly virtual.
What I didn't like about this job was it felt like a scam. They jump the gun by telling you "you are you're own boss" and they have you recruit people who will do literally the same thing as you: sell knifes, recruit more people.
Your pay isn't guaranteed unless you were able to do a full demonstration of the product, which you have to schedule in advance, and usually didn't get followed through unless the person you called was really interested in getting something like a new knife kit.
Because this is a commission based company, your pay varies by what you sell and trying to get people to buy expensive knives is really quite the challenge if you want more than the base pay for the demo. I guess the cool thing I did like about this job though were the employees I got to train with. Pros Remote. Cons They tell you its not a job when it technically is, Schedules don't make sense, Training was all over the place and is extremely long.
This place was okay to work at but it can get boring. It's a great place to work at if you wish to work from home. The pay is alright as well but could be better. Cons Have to sell to people you know very uncomfortable for me, but not as bad as i thought.

I think the training is okay. However is hard to follow. You sell knifes, you ask people about the selling. However it can be hard to convince to sell. Pros Good for work experience. Cons short breaks, and unsure about the payment. Okay job for college kids.
Must use people you know to sell. Good for experience and short term job. Overall okay job. You are required to build a portfolio of people you know, which can be annoying since most people will turn you down. It can be a rewarding experience if you actually are able to sell anything.
Pros Flexible. Cons Hard to sell. Cutco was not for me in that the blatant need to find calls for yourself does not work out how it is expected to. You are able to make your own schedule for this job, but the training is very poor.
Pros can make your own schedule. Cons poor training. I recently started this job, training was long and a little stressful, you don't get paid for training. You have to use your own contacts and they want you to recruit your difficult to get a hold of your manager, even though they required you to call them every day and after every presentation you do.
And you earn a low commission at first. And you have to know people with a lot of money that's willing to spend a lot of money on knives, so you're screwed if you don't know people like that. Pros Flexible hours.
Cons Work on commission, recruit friends, Long training unpaid. What personal life? Worked for Cutco for a few months. The pay was cool the hours are up to you as you set your appointments yourself which is awesome! The problem firstly all the meetings well not meeting more like hangouts on zoom. It was god forbid you arent in a the th meeting of the week No personal time thats the absolute only downfall of my experience.
Cons No personal life.
